Who We Are

Paul and Barbara Wareing truly believe,

"that the interaction and genuine immersion into the situations and predicaments presented as ‘our life’ is what allows every individual to embrace the true understanding of what it is to have lived well.  When it is time for death and ritual, One’s beliefs and priorities should be what gives structure, purpose and light to their Final Arrangements.”

The history of Wareing Cremation Services Inc.

The history of Wareing Cremation Services Inc. is relatively short.  Paul and Barbara Wareing opened the doors of our business in Tillsonburg, Ontario on Thursday August 14, 2014, and then the doors in Woodstock, Ontario on March 9, 2018.  We came to this industry with a full understanding of Kaizen (constant improvement), and with a finger on the pulse of the societal attitude changes towards the thoughts and ideas held by those who were, and would be, making Final Arrangements.

We believed there was another way....and a Transfer Service Class 2 properly operated by motivated, educated, and trusted Bereavement Professionals can provide respectful Final Arrangements

Paul’s business background is management in the automotive industry, concentrating on quality control, the adult training centre of an automotive plant, and a food processing plant for the better part of thirty years.  Found time to purchase and build a farm as a pork producer too.

Barb worked twenty years in the automotive industry, making wiring harnesses, as a quality control receiving inspector and floor inspector, and finally building SUV’s.  Helped build that farm, and drove school bus too.

When we arrived back in Tillsonburg in 2011, we brought with us a perspective shaped by age, people, places, circumstances, and associations.
Paul completed the Transfer Service Sales Representative course at Humber College, and  was employed in London.

Barb enrolled in first the Funeral Preplanner course, that completed, she enrolled in the Funeral Transfer Service Sales Representative course at Humber College which she completed with Honours and an Academic Award of Excellence while being employed.

Simply put, no one needs a degree or license to understand that Death changes life.  It is the interaction and immersion into the situations and predicaments presented as ‘our life’ that allows every individual to embrace the true understanding of what it is to have lived well.  Most people understand that positive memories can help us move along the path to a positive future, but it takes time.

Coming to terms with loss of the magnitude presented by death, mourning a loved one, seeking and finding comfort from friends and family……these are not spiritual, emotional, and physical needs satisfied and resolved in a few hours or a few days immediately following death. Closure is a buzz word, promising something that may never happen in this lifetime.

Each of us wants someone to understand what we think, what we fear, what we value, what we want. Some want rock’n’roll and others old country.  Some are afraid of the dark.  Many ask to meet us so we are not strangers when we arrive to their place of death.  Most know exactly how this whole scene will play out.

What happens between someone’s final breath and the moment we place a deceased person’s cremated remains back to their family is within our control.  It is a responsibility we are committed to because it matters….every motion, every action we carry out has to count for something.

As human beings we care; we have to be consistent.  It is incumbent upon us to be of strong mind and will when those who are hurting are counting on us to do the heavy lifting and to light the way in those first dark days.

For every family there is a different path…..and we are always honoured to be trusted with Final Arrangements.

Throughout the years, Wareing Cremation Services has provided Final Arrangements for families across Southwestern Ontario
