Thelma Kiri

Thelma Kiri
September 25,1935 - August 21,2022
It is with overwhelming sadness that we share the news that in the early hours of Sunday August 21,2022, Mom passed away peacefully with Jennifer by her side.
Beloved mother of Brian (Cindy), Darlene (Paul), and Jennifer. Nanny to Jessica, Lauren, Caitlyn, Mitchell, Adam and Victoria. Cherished G-Nanny to Weston, Maryn and Edwin. Thelma was predeceased by her husband of 48 years Herb, in 2016.
She was lucky enough to have found a very special friend and companion in Richard Roberts. Richard unwaveringly visited her each and every day to be by her bedside.
Mom personified strength and perseverance throughout her life. We will miss her quick wit and feisty spirit.  She will sadly be missed by all
“A mothers hugs lasts long after she lets go”
A special thanks to the Palliative Care Staff at Woodstock Hospital and Sakura House.
Cremation has taken place and a private sprinkling of her ashes will follow. Those wishing to make a donation in Thelma’s memory are asked to consider Sakura House in Woodstock, Ontario.

  • To Thelma’s family, I am very saddened to hear of her passing. I knew your mom from Scotiabank where I worked for many years. She was a riot and a pleasure to joke around with. I always enjoyed her branch visits and she and I always got into trouble with our shenanigan’s with the branch manager, Greg. She was a straight shooter with an amazing sense of humour. Thinking of you all. Hold dear all of your memories with her. Sincerely Rebecca

  • Thelma and I connected through our love of our home province Nova Scotia. She was a good friend and I loved her sense of humor. She was so proud of all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I will miss seeing pictures of the little ones. I am so sorry for your loss.

  • Our best memories of our early years in Lab City included your Mom ( and Dad ). She loved a good laugh and cherished her family and friends dearly. She welcomed us into her home regardless of the hour, and we dropped in unannounced often, always feeling at home. Thelma and Herb embraced Kris and Mark as if they were their own. We will never forget how they made us feel. Sad that her time has come but relieved that she is no longer having to endure the discomfort of the past several weeks. Rest In Peace Thelma and may you live on in the wonderful memories you left with family and friends.
