Sonja was the secretary at Courtland Public school for over 20 years and loved every minute of it. Family bonds were made with her fellow co-workers that continued right up until her passing. For a decade she was a dedicated volunteer with the Relay for Life in Tillsonburg, and in 2009 she received a recognition certificate from the Town of Tillsonburg for her volunteer contributions to the community. In 2012 she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubliee Medal for her contributions to Canada. Sonja was a long-standing member of the Goshen Baptist Church family, serving in many different rolls over the years. No matter what Sonja volunteered with she dedicated her time whole heartedly to it. She will be greatly missed.
