Shawn Foster

Peacefully, at Sakura House Hospice, Woodstock on Wednesday September 28, 2022 Shawn Foster passed the day before his 56th birthday.
Beloved father of Jessica Foster (Sheldon), Brad Barta, and Chelsea Barta. Much loved grandfather of Landon Wolfe. Cherished brother of Tanya (Ian) Coulthard, and the late Richard Foster (2004). Adored uncle to his nieces Aurora (Jared) Espenant and Kaelyn Coulthard. Dear son of the late Jean Foster (1991), and David (Carol) Foster. Treasured best friend of Dawn Barta, and loved by Sandra Foster and Paul Barta. He will be fondly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.
Shawn was a child at heart and loved to prank everyone. He taught his kids to not take life too seriously, moulded their sense of humour, and was their moral compass. He had a passion for cooking and spoiled his family with extravagant meals every night. His meals were always something to look forward to, especially his French fries and pulled pork sandwiches. Shawn loved music, journalism, and kitties. He enjoyed spending all hours of the day talking on the phone to whoever would lend an ear.
Donations made in Shawn’s name to VON Sakura House or Purrfect Companions are appreciated and may be made directly, or by cheque through Wareing Cremation Services, 346 Simcoe Street, Tillsonburg who have been entrusted with Final Arrangements.
A celebration of Shawn’s life will be held at a later date.

  • Wow! What a shock! I remember working with him at DDM and yes, he was quite the prankster although one backfired spectacularly. (When you want to swear in Japanese it doesn’t translate the way you think). I’ll always remember that one. Thanks Shawn! My condolences to the Family at the loss of Shawn.
