Saundra Kacho

On Friday, May 7, 2021, Saundra Kacho, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away at age 76.

Saundra was born November 14, 1944 in Quebec to Frank and Claire Sinodinos. She attended the Loretto Academy, and Hamilton Teachers College.  Saundra earned her BA at Brock University, and her MSW from Niagara University. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher, and finished her career teaching at Brock Teachers College. Saundra met her husband, Alex, at Teachers College. They married June 30, 1966. Saundra and Alex raised two children, Alexis and Christopher.

A dedicated grandmother to Braeden and Renata, her grandchildren brought her endless pride and happiness. Sweetie and Lily, her beautiful cats never ceased to make her laugh. Saundra loved her many nieces and nephews. She was a loyal and true friend to an amazing circle people. Saundra loved spending time with her family most of all. Family holidays, like Christmas, were her absolute favourite.

Saundra was preceded in death by her husband Alex, her father Frank, her mother Claire, brother Gary, and sister Jean. She is survived by her two children, Alexis (Brent), and Christopher (Charmaine), her grandchildren, Braeden and Renata (Lauren), several cousins, and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be announced in late summer, early fall, when we can safely gather and comfort each other.  It was Saundra’s wish that donations be sent to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.  Your memorial donations may be made directly, or by cheque through Wareing Cremation Services, 346 Simcoe Street, Tillsonburg, Ontario N4G 2J8 (519-409-5575) entrusted with final arrangements.

  • I have many very warm memories of Sandra. She was a colleague and friend while we worked together as part of a team of three (with John Reakes) at Bock University in the Faculty of Education. It was a gift to work with someone you could respect, trust and rely upon. I can attest to how much Sandra cared for her friends and family; knowing this was a source of peace and inspiration. I was quieted and very saddened to hear that Sandra passed.

My deepest sympathy to Sandra’s family on the loss of your mother and grandmother, Take some peace in knowing that you made her very happy.
