Robert was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. Robert worked as an electrician, was a private pilot, could fix or build anything and was always available with a helping hand.
The name Robert means shining with glory. Our Robert always shone but never sought the glory. His satisfaction came from a job well done and we are all better off for the example he showed us.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to Diane, Brent, Dale and families. Robert was a very dear friend. I will truly miss his sense of humour, the amount of love he expressed for others and the “jigidi” puzzles. Rest in peace!
Our heartfelt condolences Diane, to you and your family.

Robert was such a pleasant personality. As you say, he didn’t try to steal the limelight, but he was such a congenial person, always dedicated to helping Family. I will always remember when Diane started to date Robert; everything changed; all of a sudden she was like a shining light, so confident and proud. It was apparent to all that they were devoted to each other and then to their children for life. No doubt you had hills and valleys, everyone does, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who so admired your strong, rock-solid relationship. Take care of yourself Diane, Robert would want that.
Dear Diane, Simone and I send our sincerest condolences to you and your family. We have such good memories of our happy times together. Robert will be sadly missed.
We are thinking of you during this difficult time…we never had the opportunity to meet him but from how Dale and Michele talked about him we know he was a very special man who will be much missed by all. Our sincere condolences. Fechin & Valerie Vandenberg
