Peter Heinz Kueppers

Peter Heinz Kueppers
January 15, 1932 – January 3, 2021
Passed peacefully on January 3, 2021 in his 89th year. Peter was the devoted and beloved husband of Renate Kueppers (nee Kuhn). He was a loving Father and much loved by his four sons, John (Janet), Hardy (Laurie), Roy (Sherrill), and Kirk. His many grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss Opa’s fun loving, entertaining ways, and his sharing of candies and novelties.
Peter came to Canada from Germany in 1953, followed by Renate in 1954, and they first settled in Toronto before moving to Tillsonburg in 1973. Pete and Renate celebrated 66 years of marriage in 2020. Peter was a skilled tradesperson and spent many of his years in the specialized build of fine jewelry chain machines, and chain production. Peter was recognized for his creative ability and passion for his work. Peter shared his knowledge and technical abilities with his sons and others with an interest.
The family enjoyed time together hunting, fishing, boating and camping. Peter instilled a love and appreciation of the great outdoors that will carry on to future generations.
Peter had an infectious smile, was a kind generous man, and was willing to help others in need. His positive attitude, great sense of humor and ability to strike up a conversation made folks feel comfortable around him, and led to many friendships. Peter was open to multiple perspectives on many topics. Many will sadly miss but fondly remember Peter.
An extra-special thank you to the Staff at Maple Manor Nursing Home for the compassionate care they gave our Father throughout his two years there and certainly in his final moments. These incredible people made Dad’s stay enjoyable as was shown by his genuine smile whenever we visited him.
If desired memorial donations could be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Oxford, the Ruffed Grouse Society of Canada, or the Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights (CCFR). Time seemed to go by so fast when we were together. We would joke and laugh, and I learned so much from you, which I’m so very grateful for. There isn’t enough I can say about you. You were such a good man, and you made every single second count. You make me incredibly proud to have the “KUEPPERS” last name. You set the standard so high, if I can be half the man you were, I’ll know I turned out alright.
I love you, Grandpa. Rest In Peace. Your grandson, Shawn
Pete and I had some good times together. He is missed.
Saying goodbye was never easy for any of the Kueppers so you will know that this is no different and definitely the toughest goodbye of all. Thanks for being the best father that anyone could ask for. You helped me in so many ways and molded me into someone that I hope you can be forever proud of. I salute you & I Love you. And to quote what we would say when we parted “Till we meet again”. Roy & Sherrill
My sympathy to all affected by our loss of dad.
Dad, I will miss, but cherish the memories of your smile, inquisitve nature and fun loving spirit. With your kind words and ways, you always made me feel welcome, loved and part of the family. One classic fun thing you’ld say was a morning greeting of “Good morning you happy people”. You knew how to help bring out happiness in others – a trait I am thankful that Hardy seems to have gotten from you. Thankful for the time we had together on earth. Please say Hi to my mom up there, she thought very highly of you too. xo
Rest in Peace. Love, Laurie
Dear Dad, No words can express the sorrow I feel. I loved you and I know you loved me as you did your entire family. I will always have the sincerest respect for you. I will definetly miss your firm (and I mean firm) hand shakes that would last until I would give up the “squeeze”. No matter how bad you may have felt inside you’d always somehow manage to have a smile. I will forever miss you but, know that you will forever remain in my heart. P.S. Don’t forget I’d like to “feel that wind go by”.
I Love you Dad (POPS), Hardy Kueppers (“Number 2 son”)

Our deepest sympathy and condolences to John and Janet Kueppers & Family. [Peter was a loving and caring person and always had a good sense of humour and was happy. I will always remember when John and his Dad went fishing with me in Port Burwell. Peter loved the outdoors and enjoyed being with his friends. He will be missed by many but to soothe the heavy hearts we all must think of the good times and memories we had together. May God comfort the Keuppers family through this difficult time. Rest in peace. Lee & Paul B. Woods
