Michael Ptak

On Tuesday May 11, 2021 Michael passed away peacefully at home,
surrounded by his family.  A loving husband and best friend of Teresa for 43 years. The unrivalled father of Andie (Tom Parks) and Adrienne (Mike Haggith). Caring and devoted Dziadziu to Emily, Robert, and Alexander. Beloved brother to Barb (Paul Kerr) and Elizabeth (David Ailles). Born in 1956 Mike is the son of the late Peter and Zenona. He will be greatly missed by his extended family including his mother in-law, sibling in-laws, ciocias, uncle, cousins, many nieces, nephews and their families, and lifelong friends.

Born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario, he spent his early years fishing, playing soccer, hockey, and adventuring. He was always up for playing Euchre, ice fishing trips and summer activities from volleyball (Ptakstock!) to fireworks which kept his friends and family close together.   He was a gracious host and enjoyed sharing great food and drinks with all "the people". Family and friends meant everything to him. An avid Leafs fan, he would often call up his Ciocia Janka or cousin John (to name a few) just to talk hockey.  While working at Cami for over 30 years, he particularly enjoyed the Friday potlucks. His former co-workers will surely miss his contagious energy, subtle humor and warm friendship.

The family sends a huge thank you to the support team and medical staff who cared for him. Special thanks go to Dr. Fryer, Danielle, Ashley and the entire Palliative Team. You have been dedicated and caring beyond measure.  In keeping with Mike's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held, as soon as restrictions and time allows.  Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock entrusted with final arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be shared at wareingcremation.ca

  • Teresa and Family we are so sorry. Mike, Barb and I grew up together with the rest of the Polish families here in Sarnia. He was such a super, wonderful guy to just hang out with. Barb & I dyed his hair blond one summer. Just a great sport for anything. Please take care of all of you. With love Rich and Margaret

  • The loss of a father,
Is a heavy burden to bear.
He’s a source of quiet strength
That is so missed when he’s not there.
    Take comfort he’s in heaven,
    And looking down on you.
He’ll be there through the coming years,
    Watching over and guiding you.
He’s your very own guardian angel,
And he’ll be with you to the end.
When you meet again in Heaven,
And your broken heart will finally mend.💜
