Mary Balazs

Mary Balazs (nee Schwager)
January 15, 1960 – March 6, 2022

How lucky are we – to have had someone in our lives
that makes saying goodbye, so very hard.

Peacefully with Family at her side on Sunday March 6, 2022, Mary Elizabeth Balazs passed away in her 63rd year.
Loving wife and life partner of 42 years to Andy Balazs. Life for Andy won’t be the same without her – they were quite a pair.
Loving Mother and best friend to daughters Cassandra Prouse (Brandon) of Tillsonburg, and Brooke Alden (Dan) of Hinton, Alberta. The legacy of her love will always be with you. Promise, that you won’t let your tears mar the smiles you gave her when she was alive.
Proud Nunny or Nanny to her grandchildren Myah, Max, Rosalie, Everly, and Oliver. They were the light of her life. Just remember, your Nunny’s hugs last long after she’s let go.
Oh, how Mary will be missed by sisters Margaret Schwager and Rose Lemieux. Growing old together, we didn’t know we were making memories, we were just having fun.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by nephew Nicholas (Amie), niece Jacqueline (Jason), and the rest of her family and her many friends.
Mary was predeceased by parents Ann and Joe Schwager, Rose and Andy Balazs, and other family members and friends.
Her life – too short, but those who knew her will understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. There was a lot of love in Mary’s life. The memory of her will keep us smiling.
The family would like to expressly thank Kim, Lisa, and the support staff at Care Partners for their compassionate care. To the doctors and nurses who made Mary’s days more peaceful, Thank You.
In keeping with Mary’s expressed wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday March 11, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at 80 Bridge Street East, Tillsonburg, Ontario (Tillson Landing Condominiums).  Masks are mandatory.
Please use the rear entrance located on Queen Street. Parking at Tillsonburg Bible Chapel, 63 Queen Street.
A private family service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations to the ALS Society, or Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Foundation are appreciated.
Friends and relatives are invited to offer their support by sending private condolences here at www.wareingcremation.ca

  • My deepest sympathy to Andy and your family and Margaret & Rose. It looks like Mary had a lot of loving family around her throughout her life. You have a beautiful family Andy and I can really see the resemblance of Mary in your daughters and grandkids. I do regret not contacting Mary as we got older and carried on with our lives, but I don’t regret the time we spent together in Straffordville. We had some great times at her parent’s place and her family always treated me so well. Take care, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Cindy (Hesch) Spearman

  • We Love Deeply, we grieve deeply. Our Condolences to Andy and Girls and everyone who was in Mary’s heart. Mary is and always will be an inspiration to me. She was an exceptional Child care giver to our boys. That smile she had could light up the darkest days and she always made you feel soooo special. Loved her sense of humour. A good belly laugh was always a gift she gave freely. Loved watching her eyes light up so brightly when she talked about her girls and grandkids. Kindness and such love just oozed out of her pores. To Andy and her sisters, you all were her rock and she couldn’t express her love for you all enough. Such strength and courage she displayed. She certainly lives on in her Girls and Grandkids. We will always remember her with a smile and a giggle and warmth in our hearts. Sending much Love and Big Hugs to all.

  • Mary grew up across the street from me and we played together often. We lost track of each other over the years, but I kept in touch with her mother until her passing. Her mother was so proud of her and Andy and spoke highly of both of them. She will be missed.
