Marguerite Turgeon

It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce, after a short battle with cancer, the passing of Marguerite Turgeon at VON Sakura House, Woodstock, Ontario.

Devoted wife of Richard Turgeon. Loving mother of Chantal Turgeon. Cherished mémère   of Tiffany McGregor (Patrick), Nicole Turgeon, and adopted granddaughter Josie Lamothe. Loving great mémère of Leilon McGregor. She will be sadly missed by her brother Emmanuel Fournier, sister Anne Marie Maheu (Igan), nephew Alain, and extended family on the Turgeon side.  Predeceased by her son Raymond Turgeon, mother Palmala Fournier, and grandmother Albertine Gauthier.

After retirement Marguerite and Richard moved from North Bay to Woodstock.  Anyone who knew Marguerite would understand that she didn't know the meaning of retirement. She took a part time position with St. James Anglican Church in Ingersoll as an office administrator.  Keeping up with her busy lifestyle, you would often find Marguerite organizing card or girls’ nights at the condo building.  You would often catch her walking her beloved Maddie or chit chatting with her neighbors.  Marguerite would often go back home to visit family and her best friend Teresa and family.

Marguerite was a strong, independent woman.  Whether it was with co-workers or family, she taught us how to be strong, hardworking and respectful.  Marguerite had a heart of gold and would help anyone that required it. She won the heart and respect of all those who knew her.  Marguerite was compassionate and taught us the value of life.  Marguerite summed it up like this,

"One kind word said to the living is worth more than a million said over a grave."

At the request of Marguerite and her family there will be no formal service.  Cremation has taken place.  Interment will be held on Saturday August 27, 2022, at 11:30 am, in the Astorville Cemetery, Astorville, Ontario.  Memorial donations made in Marguerite Turgeon's name to VON Sakura House, Woodstock are appreciated.

Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock, Ontario have been entrusted with Final Arrangements.  Your messages of remembrance and condolence may be shared at www.wareingcremation.ca
