Madeline Ruth Dukes

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful Mother and Grandmother, Madeline Dukes at the age of 93, January 19 2021 at Woodstock General Hospital.

Predeceased by her husband George Dukes (1988).  Mother of Danny (Jackie) and Mike (Marg).  Loving Grandma to Kris (Genna), Eric, Tim (Karyn), Adam (Kristin), Drew (Casey) and six great grandchildren.  Special Aunt to Teresa (George) Knox and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents Charles and Lillian (King) Downey and her brother Earl (Shirley) Downey.

Madeline was a kind and gentle soul that lived a full life living in her own apartment, receiving help from her many friends in her building during her final months. Special thanks to Cathy for her care and concern in Madeline’s final days.   Madeline liked nothing better than a good game of cards with her many friends and was known to enjoy a dance or two when the opportunity presented itself.

Cremation has taken place and Madeline will be laid to rest next to George at Oxford Memorial Cemetery.  When COVID restrictions are lifted, a celebration of Madeline's life will be held. In her memory the family simply asks that you be kind to someone.

Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock, Ontario N4S 3V8 entrusted with arrangements.
