Lucille Chapman

It is with great sadness that we announce Lucille (Babe) Chapman succumbed to death on Monday January 10, 2022 after sustaining a catastrophic stroke weeks earlier. While in hospital she was constantly accompanied by her children at her side and with the music she loved, passing to Bob Dylan's "Knockin On Heaven's Door".

A lifelong Woodstock native, Lucille was well-loved in her small city. She adored her two children, Andrew (Kim) and Aubrey (Chris) and five grandchildren as the loves of her life. She is survived by her brothers Ron and Tony, numerous family members and friends.

In her memory, and as a testament to her kindness and generous nature please consider a donation to The Inn.  https://oldstpauls.com/the-inn/    A celebration of life will be planned for the Spring.  Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock, Ontario has been entrusted with final arrangements.  Messages of remembrance and condolence may be shared at wareingcremation.ca

  • Dear family
Our sincere sympathies with the loss of Lucille. To us she was Mrs. Chapman the kind lady that our son cut grass and shoveled snow for. Even after she moved away from Raglan street, whenever I saw her she always asked how everyone was doing. She was so kind. We have very fond memories of her that we will always keep close to our heart.
Peace be with your family during this difficult time.

  • Andrew, Aubrey and families: I was so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. Lucille and I worked for many, many years in Health Records at the old hospital. I and Shelley Jaurnig would really appreciate a message when you are planning the celebration of Lucille’s life. We would both like to attend.

  • I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Aubrey and Andrew on the loss of your mom. I worked with Lucille for many years in health records and had kept in touch after her retirement. I have so many wonderful memories of working together. We actually did zumba classes together before the pandemic hit. I will truly miss Lucille and would really love to attend the celebration of her life in the spring.

  • She had a wonderful demeanure with a quick wit about her. She made me laugh on many occasions. We were making plans for this past week to get together when she had her stroke. We had talked about meeting earlier, but, she was getting together with the Grandchildren. I suppose that is the way life is sometimes. With all my heart I will miss you and I love you Babe.

  • To Andrew, Aubrey, Ron and Tony, I send my deepest condolences on the loss of your wonderful Mom and Sister. My dear dear friend Luce.
I met Lucille at Victoria school in 1955 and we became fast friends. I spent so many fun days at the Chapman home and felt like I was family.
We never lost touch and I enjoyed every minute I spent with her. She was one of a kind and she was one of the kindest.
Lucille cherished her family and she had so many years of living to do with her grandchildren whom she adored. We both loved sharing grandchildren stories and videos. She was a huge part of our life and our home. She was our dog Troy’’s best buddy.
I will miss her every single day but I have 65 years of memories to keep me going.
Both John and I send our love and join in our sorrow for your loss.
