It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John A. Sibley, our husband, father, father-in-law, Grampa, brother-in-law and uncle, in his 78th year. He passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday August 24, 2022 with his family by his side.
Beloved husband of 34 years to Rose Mary. He will be deeply missed by his sons Jason (Amanda) and Jeff (Amanda). Saying goodbye to his granddaughter, Imogen, was the hardest goodbye for John. Wishing him peace are his sisters in law, Margaret (Mark) Bossy and Teresa Moore. Uncle John will be sorely missed by many nieces and nephews and their families.
John was predeceased by his parents Bill (2015) and Hughian (2008), his brother Tom (2014), and many aunts and uncles.
John began his firefighting career at the Woodstock Fire Department in 1974. He moved up through the ranks, serving as Fire Chief for the last 12 years of his career; retiring from the Fire Department in 2004. He loved serving the community of Woodstock. For those who knew John, his passion was baseball. He loved playing the sport in his younger years, always in the position of catcher, for many fastball teams, to later in life watching his beloved Tigers.
Rose, Jason, Jeff, and family would like to thank Dr. Kocsis and his Staff for their compassion and caring. Special thanks to the PICOT team and all the services that were made available to John. Their kindness and compassionate care will be forever remembered.

Many memories were had with John and the ball team years. Those were all special moments that will never be forgotten. Rest in piece John and God Bless.
My brothers Dennis and Neil Clifford both played ball with John when I was a child. He was a very nice man and a great catcher. Lots of great memories of that team!

Sending prayers and Condolences to the Sibley family at this time of loss! Jason sorry to hear about your father he was a great man. The bell will always ring in his memory!
I am deeply saddened to hear the passing of John. I had the opportunity to know John through my time at Craigowan. We always had a nice chat, unfortunately we never had a chance to play any golf together. But when I think of him, two things stand out in my mind. He was always smiling and he always would take the time to talk and see how everyone was doing. A true gentleman. My thoughts and prayers to you, Rose, and the entire family.
Rose Mary & family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief.
Remember your family & friends are here for you!
Rose, Jason, Jeff and Sibley family, you have my deepest sympathies with the recent passing of John. I met John many years ago through his brother Tom who I worked with at Casino Windsor. We golfed together many times over the years and it seemed like whenever Tom and I had meeting out of town we always found just enough time to stop in Woodstock on our way home to play a round of golf with John at the club where he was a member. John was a great guy who I know will be truly missed by all who knew him. John and his family are in my thoughts and prayers. Gerry Finnegan, Windsor

Beautiful tribute Rose.
Rose and family,
We are so sad for you all when hearing of John’s passing. Equally so, we are grateful he now resides in the Eternal magic that comes after physical death. We are glad that he is now forever free from any pain.
It was wonderful knowing John. He was exceptionally proud of his family and his career, and he was always eager to share the stories of his life’s experiences with us all.
I pray each of you find comfort in the signs he will send you, and that Your continued faith in what comes after this life keeps you hope-filled when grief revisits your heart.
With love,
We will miss John. Our sympathies to you all.
