Jerry Stroobandt

October 7, 1949 – June 8, 2021

Jerry Stroobandt of Langton, Ontario passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday June 8, 2021, in his 72nd year.

Predeceased by his parents Marcella and Camiel Stroobandt, his sister Mary Louise Martin, and Simonne Kyndt his older sister in Belgium.  Loving husband and best friend of Virginia ‘Ginny’ Stroobandt for 22 years.  Loving brother of Irene (Randy) Gagnon, and Paula Willaert.  Father to Jeremy Fisher, and Brianne (Anthony) Anderson.  Devoted Grandpa to Steven, Chase, Gage, Kaylee, Tessa, and Calvin.  Remembered by his nieces and nephews.

Jerry grew up working with his family on several local tobacco farms.  He liked to go fishing and hunting when he and his friends were younger, and while a student at Glendale High School he and some high school friends started the Chess Club.  Jerry enjoyed bowling 10 pin and played on several teams in the area, including his Dad’s team.  Through the years Jerry was employed at several commercial printing shops; he was a real estate agent for several years; employed by the Salvation Army in Tillsonburg as their truck driver; and was electronics and mechanical associate at the Goodwill Store in Tillsonburg before retiring to become what some people called “the computer guy” at his home in Langton.  Jerry was an active member of the Church of Christ that meets in Tillsonburg.  He would be pleased to be remembered for his kind and generous heart.

Wareing Cremation Services, 346 Simcoe Street, Tillsonburg, Ontario has been entrusted with final arrangements.  Your messages of remembrance and condolence may be shared at

  • I heard what you need to say! You raise a great point and I’ve pondered exactly the same thing. I think remarks are certainly heard in any event, when it is a bustling discussion. Regardless of whether the creator have the transfer speed to answer each and every remark, other analysts that are bought in can bounce into the discussion like you and I are doing now.
One thing I’ve generally pondered is… the reason don’t more analysts get into conversations with other analysts? There are such countless valid statements to develop in an enthusiastic discussion.
I concur. I’d very much want to see more association between analysts to keep the discussion rising along.

  • My sincere condolences to Virginia and all of Jerry’s family. I will always remember how good Uncle Jerry was to me and my brothers. I have fond memories of teenage Jerry entertaining his four little nephews whenever we visited. He introduced us to the world of comic books and let us listen to his newest Beatles records. When we were older he would take us fishing and let us check out his latest car. We couldn’t have asked for a better uncle. I really regret that I lost touch with him over the years. He was a great guy and he will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace Uncle Jerry.

  • I, like so many others, have been left shaken when learning of Jerry’s passing. May God continue to give you strength as a family as you turn to Him for comfort and understanding. His timing is not our timing – but we know He has a purpose in all things. My prayers and thoughts are with you Ginny, Jeremy, Brianne and Anton.

Our prayers are for the comfort and love that only God can give.Words are never enough at a time like this but please know that everyone of you were a blessing to Jerry and he loved you all and he was especially proud of all of you! Jerry was always the first to be there when we needed a helping hand. His quick smile and twinkle in his eye will certainly be missed as we were never sure if he was serious.
