It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Douglas Cecil Otto, 63 years of age, on Saturday September 18, 2021.
Beloved husband of Julie (Armstrong). Loving and Proud father of Mathew Owen and stepfather to both Paul and Stefanie Caughlin. Adored and devoted Papa to grandson Brody Richard Douglas Van Leeuwen. Dear brother to sister Brenda Lawson (Otto). Lovingly remembered by nephew Andrew (Kirsty) Lawson and family and niece Laura Armstrong.
Predeceased by his parents Bob Otto, and Lorraine Dudley, brother Larry Otto, nephew Paul Otto, and brother in law Gaylan Armstrong. Doug will be deeply missed by his Aunts, Uncles, and his many cousins and their extended families. Doug will be sadly missed by many, many friends and their families
Cremation has taken place. An outdoor Celebration of Life will be held Saturday October 2, 2021 from 1 to 5p.m. at the Otto home, 52 Princess Park Road, Ingersoll, Ontario. In memory of Doug please consider a donation to the Ingersoll branch of the Royal Canadian Legion for which Doug was a member, or a charity of your choice. Memorial donations may be made (by cheque) through Wareing Cremation Services, 346 Simcoe Street, Tillsonburg, Ontario N4G 2J8 (519-409-5575).
We wish to thank the Oxford County EMS for their quick response and care, the Doctors, Nurses, RT's, and staff at the Ingersoll Alexandra Hospital ER, Woodstock Hospital ICU, and LHSC Victoria Hospital’s CCTC for their devotion and compassionate support during the short time Doug was in their care. A “bottom of our heart thank you” to friends Nancy Giles McIntosh R.N., Marilyn Risk R.N., and Teresa Neves R.N. for supporting us, keeping us company, and feeding us in London during a truly emotional night.

It is with great sadness that I received this news on Saturday, September 18th.
My most sincere condoleances to Doug’s family and close friends.
he was such a fun and kind gentleman to be around.
He will be missed.

We are so very sad for your tremendous loss. Doug always brought a bright spot into our day at the office and into our hearts as a friend. We will miss his hearty laugh and his quick wit, not to mention his warmth and sincerity.
