Blake Bowerman

Blake G. Bowerman
August 16, 1952 – May 16, 2022

After a courageous battle with cancer, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by the love of his family, Blake G. Bowerman of Tillsonburg, formerly of Manitoulin Island, passed away on May 16, 2022 at the age of 69 years.
Loving husband and best friend to Maria (MacDougall) for 41 years.
Proud and loving Father of Jason Bowerman (Amanda) of Victoria, B.C., Garry Bowerman of Mindemoya, Ontario, Tammy Bowerman (Rene) of Providence Bay, Ontario, Amy Wright (John David) of Providence Bay, and Stacey Bowerman-Dickey of Aylmer, Ontario.
Cherished Grandpa/Papa of Julisa Bowerman (Josh), Riley Wright (Amanda), John Tanner Wright, Mason Jr. Dickey, Matthew Dickey, Alice Bowerman, and great-grandson Anubis Wright.
Beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Predeceased by his parents Grant and Ethel (Nichols) Bowerman and younger brother Mark Bowerman.
Blake was extremely outgoing and could make friends wherever he was. He always had a good story to tell or a great joke to share and could make anyone laugh.
Blake was never one to sit still and prided himself in being a hard-working man. He was the former owner of Blake Bowerman & Sons Community Services on Manitoulin Island, former co-owner of B & M Property Maintenance in Tillsonburg, and enjoyed a successful 45+ years in the trucking industry. Right up until his diagnosis in 2021, Blake spent his “retirement” driving dump truck for Dragas Haulage Inc. in Embro.
Blake always loved the open road and the long hauls, but he especially loved road trips and camping with his wife Maria. He greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends sharing good food and lots of laughs. Blake will be fondly remembered as a strong and loving provider, an amazing cook and will forever hold the title for the world’s best spaghetti!!!
Through precious memories and lasting love,
Blake will remain in the hearts of those he loved
and as he always said, “it’s not goodbye, it’s see you later…”
In keeping with Blake’s wishes cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held in 2023 on Manitoulin Island.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Chemo Clinic Woodstock Hospital Foundation are most appreciated and your donation may be made directly, or (by cheque) through Wareing Cremation Services, 346 Simcoe St., Tillsonburg, Ontario who have been entrusted with Final Arrangements.

  • My condolences to Blake’s family and friends. Blake was one of four in grade one at Big Lake school. Myself and Chuck Moody and Larry Charlton were the whole grade one class.
