James  ‘Jimmy’  P.  Lewis

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of James Patrick Lewis on October 22, 2017 at the age of 58.

James was born on July 5, 1959 and was raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He lived for a short time in Vancouver BC before settling in London Ontario.  Jim was a true and kind spirit with a love for playing guitar, motorcycle trips, playing pool, canoeing and fishing.  He had a genuine love and caring for animals and took great pleasure in walking his dog Bear in the ravine.  He spent most of his working life at Victoria Hospital where he worked in many departments including Respiratory Therapy, his favourite.  Those who knew him will undoubtedly remember him for his kind heart, sense of humor and one liners.

Jim is survived by his two daughters Mackenzie, and Alana (Nick Marshall), whom he loved with all his heart, his grandchildren Maksim and Merrick Marshall, mother Bonnie Doyle (Gay), sister Rhonda Doyle Leblanc, and brother Chris Stevens.  He will be missed by many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, Julia Fazakas-Lewis and her family, and by many dear friends.

Cremation has taken place.  A gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday October 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the Rose Chapel, Best Western Stoneridge Inn, 6675 Burtwistle Lane, London, Ontario.  A Service will also be held in Waverley, Nova Scotia on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Waverley Legion, 2234 Rocky Lake Drive.

For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre, the Humane Society, Phoenix House Halifax, or the charity of your choice.
