Brenda Louise Louws (nee Lattimer)

Brenda Louise Louws passed away peacefully with grace at her home on Wednesday October 11, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.  Brenda leaves behind her loving husband Kees to whom she was devoted.  She is adored for her strength and compassion by her children, Marika and Thomas.  Brenda is survived by her mother Connie Lauder (John), her brother Keith Lattimer (Kim), extended family Bonnie Bellamy (Terry) and Cindy Ratcliffe.  Predeceased by her father Ed Lattimer (Betty), Doug Ratcliffe, Jim and Robbie Lauder.  Brenda cherished her relationship with her family/in-laws in Holland, her cousins, her nieces and nephews, and her many friends.

Brenda grew up in Woodstock.  She began her career as a horticulturalist and landscape designer in London. While raising her children she wove these talents and skills into creating her own businesses beginning her garden store, Weeds and Co., in Sparta, then selling perennials from her home, ending in Tillsonburg at Twigs Floral Design where she found her niche as an artist and floral designer.

It was in her garden that Brenda flourished, growing and tending to a piece of paradise with Kees at her side.

Brenda joined with family and friends this past July to celebrate their lives together.

Brenda’s family would like to express their gratitude to the support received from friends, neighbours, and healthcare providers in St. Thomas and London.  Memorial donations can be made to Sparta Historical Society (c/o Sally Martyn, PO Box 34, Sparta, Ontario N0L 2H0), St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (, or a charity of your choice.

At Brenda and the family’s request there will be no funeral.

Messages of condolence may be made at   Wareing Cremation Services, 346 Simcoe Street, Tillsonburg, Ontario N4G 2J8 (519-409-5575).
